If blogs were restaurants

Mine would be a downtown diner. The food you get here wouldn't be haute cuisine or especially nutritious but it would always taste good. Basically I'd be the grilled cheese sandwich of blogosphere. But the waitress here knows your name and she always has a smile for you, and it's a good place to stop by whenever you need a little break.

If your blog was a restaurant what would it be like?

Update: Lalo Martins described his blog/restaurant here. It's the kind of place where I'd like to hang out every Friday after work.

I maintained several blogs for different purpose. The blog in Sun in English is a kind of report read by the managers who have interests in the developers and communities event and activities in China. A technical blog in Chinese is for promoting Sun's technology. A personal blog in Chinese records my thoughts about feeling about the life and work. It seems that I should combine those blogs into one. :-)

Where does this come from? If your blog is a woman, would she be Briney, Emily, or Cher? Animal? Book?

My blog is me. And I know you.

Ada, I know a lot of people suggest keeping your personal and work blogs separate. My personal and work entries are all mixed up together but I think it all depends on what you're comfortable with. I actually read both of yours.

Sin-Yaw - Anne Hathaway. Sea lion. The Divine Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. And where does any of my blog stuff come from? It's just whatever was running through my head at the time. :)

I think it would almost be AGAINST Sun's mantra to have separate work/personal blogs! :) Isn't that part of your charm, the blend of work/life?

A downtown diner eh... how unhealthy and fattening :)

Christin I think you're right. Most people who work at Sun are real people with hobbies, loves and passions outside of work. I love reading about them on their blogs.

Shubho - yep, unhealthy and fattening. In Alabama we call that "soul food". :)

Hmm, interesting question. I love diner grilled cheese sandwiches, with fries, onion rings, and a big chocolate shake. Fortunately, I don't love that too often...

I guess my personal site/blog would be a high-end restaurant featuring the weirdest blend of fusion cuisine you've ever seen. Probably not to everybody's taste, but I do have my steady customers. Just waiting for Zagat's to notice me. ;)

Don't know about my Sun blog yet; so far it's mostly about owls! I have some things in mind I want to write about concerning my life, my Sun experience, etc., and am not sure yet which site I'm going to put them on.

Er, if my blog _were_ a restaurant (the only manifestation of subjunctive left in English, to my knowledge, used because my blog _is not_ a restaurant, but I digress...)
A café, with really good coffee and pastries and chocolate and, er, that is a great place to hang around. Where spontaneous discussions spring up amongst the patrons, some unknown to one another. With a comfortable atmosphere, comfortable seating, unpretentious decor, lots of places to sit and knit, oh darn, I'm describing my ideal café now...

I don't have a blog, but my visit to this blog has been very enjoyable. Everyone in your diner is very friendly. I will be a repeat customer! : )
