Django in NetBeans? Coming soon!
By Matheus Santana Lima on Mar 10, 2009
In my recent post about NetBeans, I received an interesting comment posted by Gabriel Marcondes, in the form of questions on the Django :
"You said the improvement in support for Python, I saw some time
as the NB 6.5 beta. Is there any provision for inclusion of Django? I
remember reading about a branch of NB where they would be including
Django, algumanovidade about it? "
Then I was better informed on the subject and with the help of Silveira (http://silveiraneto.net/) I found some interesting things.
The first is that Django will be added to NetBeans yes, but more fully in version 7.
The second one is that there is a partial support in Milestone 2 , made by Allan Davis. We also support Django template editor and the Django deployment server in the future, all however, must still come in NetBeans 7.0.
Users and enthusiasts of this framework, these are good news. There are a number of features to come in version 7.0 for Python. In addition to better support this language, also better support for Jython , integration with Glassfish , among many others, like the very useful command to delete files pyc/pyo and the generation of Python code from the NetBeans UML module .
