Email activity and seasonal trends during the past week:
The Retail Email Index: The top online retailers sent each of their subscribers 3.0 promotional emails on average during the week ending Jan. 28, 2011. That’s up 3% week-over-week, down 6% from where it was four weeks ago, and up 18% year-over-year.
The Retail Email Participation Rate: Monday and Friday were the most popular days to send retail emails last week.
The Retail Email Seasonality Meter: For the next two weeks Valentine’s Day messaging will continue to dominate. However, this week we will likely see the first references to Presidents’ Day, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter.
