Week-End Trends: Slow start for 4th of July promotions

Email activity and promotional trends during the past week:

The Retail Email Index fell 4% to 202 during the week ending June 13, but is up 1% from where it was four weeks ago. The Index score indicates that the top 100 online retailers sent approximately 2 promotional emails each on average last week.

Retail Email Participation Rates: Last week, 92% of the retailers in the RetailEmail Index sent out at least one promotional email, down from 93% the week prior, and on par with the 4-weeks-ago period. Tuesday was the most popular day to send retail emails last week.

Retail Email Seasonality Meter: By this time last year, we already had a handful of retailers referencing the 4th of July. This year? Only one in the past two weeks. Things should pick up next week.
