Email activity and promotional trends during the past week:
The Retail Email Index fell 3% to 208 during the week ending Aug. 29, and is up 1% from where it was four weeks ago. The Index score indicates that the top 100 online retailers sent nearly 2.1 promotional emails each on average last week.
The Retail Email Participation Rate: Thursday was the most popular day to send retail emails last week.
The Retail Email Seasonality Meter: In the wake of Labor Day we should see back-to-school messaging trail off significantly and Halloween messaging start to pick up, although Halloween messaging won’t approach its full strength until the start of October.
