Email activity and promotional trends during the past week:

The RetailEmail Index rose 6% to a year-to-date high of 262 during the week ending Nov. 30, and is up 33% from where it was four weeks ago. The Index score indicates that on average the top 100 online retailers sent more than 2.6 promotional emails each last week.

Christmas (Dec. 25): Just like last year, I’ve stopped counting holiday references because nearly every retail email has a holiday angle to it at this point.

Thanksgiving (Nov. 22): The retailers in the RetailEmail Index sent 9 emails referencing Thanksgiving last week, down from 50 the week before.

Black Friday (Nov. 23): There were 3 emails referencing to Black Friday last week, down from 44 the week prior.

Cyber Monday (Nov. 26): There were 17 emails that referenced Cyber Monday last week, up from 1 the week before.

Other things referenced by retailers: winter sports, holiday parties
