Week-End Trends: Breast Cancer Awareness rises

Email activity and promotional trends during the past week:

The RetailEmail Index rose 3% to 191 during the week ending Sept. 28, and is up 2% from where it was four weeks ago.


*The RetailEmail Index is a general measure of the email volume generated by 100 of the top online retailers.

Last week, 88% of the retailers in the RetailEmail Index send out at least one email, down from 89% the week prior, and down from 93% during the 4-weeks-ago period.



Halloween (Oct. 31): The retailers in the RetailEmail Index sent 13 emails referencing Halloween last week, up from 9 the week before.

Christmas (Dec. 25): There were 12 emails referencing Christmas last week, up from 1 the week prior.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October): There were 6 emails referencing Breast Cancer Awareness Month, up from 1 the week before.

Back to School: There were no back to school references last week, down from 1 the week prior.

Other things referenced by retailers: fall, Halo 3, coats/jackets, football
