Week-End Trends: 40% of weekly volume from Mother’s Day emails

Email activity and promotional trends during the past week:

The RetailEmail Index fell 4% to 209 during the week ending May 2, and is up 2% from where it was four weeks ago. The Index score indicates that the top 100 online retailers sent nearly 2.1 promotional emails each on average last week.

RetailEmail Participation Rates: Last week, 94% of the retailers in the RetailEmail Index sent out at least one promotional email, up from 93% the week prior, and up from 93% during the 4-weeks-ago period. Monday was the most popular day to send retail emails last week.

RetailEmail Seasonality Meter: Mother’s Day emails were huge last week, accounting for nearly 40% of all retail emails, and should clock in around the same level next week.
