A look back on seasonal trends, email activity and standout B2C marketing:
Start to finish: The first reference to graduation was on April 28. The final reference was on June 14 by Norm Thompson.
The distribution curve: The biggest day for graduation emails was Tuesday, June 3, followed by Saturday, May 17. Retailers sent the majority of their graduation-themed emails after May 27.
Most interesting email: There’s not too much creativity being dedicated to graduation, which is probably an opportunity for some retailers. In fact, graduation is almost always lumped in with Father’s Day. Walgreens sent one of the few emails dedicated to graduation that showed any creativity. In a May 12 email, they promoted their photo gifts and included several graduation party tips that made use of their photo services.
