One on one with Kevin Akeroyd on Modern Marketing Experience Europe

In a few days, October 14th to be exact, Modern Marketing Experience Europe will kick off on in London.

For those not familiar with the Modern Marketing Experience, it offers an unprecedented opportunity to gain insights from experts in marketing automation, social marketing, content marketing, and big data at a single premier event

I caught up with Oracle Marketing Cloud GM Kevin Akreroyd before he made his way across the pond to get this thoughts on the forthcoming event.

The first thing I wanted to know was why Modern Marketing Experience Europe would be different than other EMEA based marketing events.

"It's really about the breadth and the scope of what we're going to be talking about," he told me.

"It's an incredibly exciting time in the world of marketing. The emergence of our marketing platform carries with it full, true marketing integration in a cloud based environment. We're not just talking marketing automation, we're way past that. We're talking content marketing, email marketing, mobile, push, social media marketing - all in one place."

"It's all about the customer and we're talking about having a holistic view of all customer data; listening to the customer and in turn engaging in relationship building dialogue."

As to what he specifically will be speaking about, he told me he will focus on four main topics:

  1. Customer centricity. The customer is in control and it's time marketers put them front and center.
  2. Marketing simplicity. Thanks to the Oracle Marketing Cloud it has never been easier or simpler to accomplish the goal of indeed putting your customer front and center in everything you do.
  3. Enterprise readiness. With the incredible amount of data available to marketers these days, the CMO & CIO need to work together more so than ever achieve maximum ROI.
  4. Individualization in relationships. Remember when personalization meant having the ability to put someone's first name in an email? Now is the time we move to a real individualized way of marketing and thanks to the OMC that is very much a reality.
