Email marketing: The Weekly Inbox volume 63 (Holiday edition)

Steve Olenski
Master Principal Sales Architect

The Weekly Inbox is a collection of email marketing messages from across the retail, travel/hospitality and financial services industries that caught my eye for being clever, forward thinking, creative or just plain awesome.

Welcome back to the next installment of The Weekly Inbox.

We are deep into the holiday season of course and Christmas is right around the corner so let's see what caught my eye this past week from a holiday-themed perspective.

The clock is ticking

Love this email from J.Crew which had a countdown clock (yes it is counting down as we speak) and the subject line: "Um, 12/25 is next week. Get your gifts! 40% off sweaters (& more holiday favorites) starts now." How can you not love a email whose subject line has the word "um" in it?

Deck the halls indeed!

The email below from Virgin America has a very holiday-based call to action. And of course I love the play on words re: the word "fly." Love it.

Santa puppy

Ok I admit the email below form 1-800-PetMeds is not entirely holiday-based but just take one look at the adorable puppy at the bottom and tell methat wouldn't get your attention. I mean, c'mon.

We're talking REAL big here

I would say the folks at JCPenney are having a pretty big sale wouldn't you? I love this email because it jumps right off the screen the fact that they're having a Holiday Huge Sale. Plus you have to love the online codes they use, too

Words to the wise

Not the 3 wise men but to all are these words to the wise from Grainger in their email below. How did they know I like to give fruitcakes anyway?
