The Weekly Inbox is a collection of email marketing messages from across the retail, travel/hospitality and financial services industries that caught my eye for being clever, forward thinking, creative or just plain awesome.

Welcome back to the next installment of The Weekly Inbox.

Here’s some emails that caught my eye this past week.

You could've fooled me

This past Monday was of course April Fool's Day and while I didn't get all that many "fool" themed emails, one I did receive caught my eye. This one below from Banana Republic which includes the subject line of "41% off? It’s no joke!" Did you catch the percentage they used? 41 = 4/1. Clever.

Here comes Peter Cottontail

Easter isn't until a few more weeks but some retailers, such as Williams-Sonoma, are doing their part to make sure everyone's ready. This tantalizingly tempting email arrived in my inbox complete with the perfectly themed call to action: Hop to it!

Hold the line

I absolutely love the subject line that accompanied this below from J. Crew: "Please continue to hold." It grabbed my attention for at first glance it was not a subject line one would expect to see in an email for its obvious phone intimation. Then seeing the body of the email it made perfect sense. Very well done.

Play your cards right

Another great line is the headline in this email from Hawaiian Airlines. A clever line to draw you into learning more about getting this credit card and in turn start earning points, etc. The majestic scenery behind the cards is a great touch whereas just an image of the cards would not have nearly the same effect.

G'day mate

This email below from Nordstrom caught my eye starting with the headline: "New from UGG Australia: Breezy-Chi​c Sandals," as my daughter is an UGG lover for sure. Love the big, bold headline and accompanying image. Very well done.
