Email marketing: The Weekly Inbox volume 21

The Weekly Inbox is a collection of email marketing messages from across the retail, travel/hospitality and financial services industries that caught my eye for being clever, forward thinking, creative or just plain awesome.

Welcome back to the next installment of The Weekly Inbox.

Here’s some emails that caught my eye this past week.

Hail to the chief

Starting on Valentine's Day and carrying into the day itself, many retailers sent out President's Day themed emails.

Here's a few that caught my eye such as this one from Staples which arrived in my inbox on February 14th.

The subject line "$140 off our Daily Deal, plus a peek at future steals!" caught my eye right away for who doesn't love a good steal? Plus they offered me a sneak peak as to what was to come on Monday, President's Day.


Red, white and you

The following day I received this email from Nordstrom which featured a fantastic image of red and blue with white lettering. The headline text was perfect for it called out all that I needed to know. These are President's Day Deals and I can save up to 50%. Perfect.


Two tickets tickets to paradise

Bonus points if you knew that was an Eddie Money song title, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the headline in the email below from Hawaiian Airlines. C'mon, who wouldn't want to make new memories in paradise? I know I do.


You ain't scene nothing yet

This email from LEGO, with the subject line "Recreate your favorite scenes from THE LEGO® MOVIE™!" is great for it ties in perfectly with the incredible success of The LEGO Movie. The  movie is getting a lot of well-deserved buzz and as a parent of an avid LEGO devotee this email does a fabulous job at bringing it altogether.


Spring into action

Maybe it's because of the abysmal winter myself and essentially the entire East Coast has had to endure up 'til this point, but when I saw this email from Orbitz with the headline "PACKUP and go this spring!" and the inviting and calming image, I was ready to go now! Very well done indeed.
