The Weekly Inbox is a collection of email marketing messages from across the retail, travel/hospitality and financial services industries that caught my eye for being clever, forward thinking, creative or just plain awesome.
Welcome back to the next installment of The Weekly Inbox.
Here’s some emails that caught my eye this past week.
Are you ready for some football?
This Sunday is the Super Bowl, but you probably already knew that. Of course unless a brand is an official sponsor they are not permitted to use the words "Super Bowl" in their marketing and advertising.
Here's some emails I received with words other than "Super" and "Bowl" in them.
The first one is from Grainger which had the subject line of
I displayed the subject line via an image as I wanted to show you the use of the check mark, which I loved. Here's the email, which is great because it tells me right up front in big, bold letters and numbers how much I can save.
Here's one from Walgreens which had a subject line that implored me to "Get ready for the big game." Clearly they think I will need snacks and drinks for the big game and they of course, would be correct.
And finally here's one from Harry & David who told how I can get "Free shipping + elevate your big game party with gourmet appetizers." Clearly these retailers know I like to eat. This email is great as the headline is big and bold and the pictures are very inviting and quite mouthwatering.
A view to a thrill
The subject line from the email from LEGO below read "Watch the designer video about the new exclusive LEGO® Maersk Line Triple-E." Very timely indeed given the movie Captain Phillips (who was the captain of the Maersk when it was hijacked) is nominated for multiple Academy Awards.
The email is nice and clean and tells me just what I need to know and where to learn more.
Nifty fifty
This email from Staples caught my eye for the subject line "Up to $50 off + today's daily deal!" but for the content, too. Sure I want to save money like everyone else, but the email itself also caught my eye because it did not try and overwhelm me with too much information at once.
What's new?
Love this email from Harley-Davidson for it tells me to get what I really want! And who doesn't want what they really want? We all do. In all seriousness the email is great because the subject line "New year, new gear, now in dealership" tells me right off the bat that new gear is ready and now I can get what I really wanted.
