“Content marketing” is the new “social media.” I have at least one meeting every day with a marketer who is looking to create a content marketing practice at his company. Content has never been more vogue.
On the other hand, lead nurturing (the practice of cultivating a lead over time until the prospect is ready to buy) remains, to most observers anyway, “just” lead nurturing. It’s strong and stable, but not exactly posh. It would make for a boring infographic – but it makes a heckuva career.
That’s why I dig the idea for today’s webinar so much: Content Marketing and Lead Nurturing: The One-Two Punch for Attracting and Cultivating Demand. It’s like a Greaser and a Soc swapping business cards (c’mon, any fans of The Outsiders out there, anyone?).
It's quite the pair of speakers. MarketingProfs’ content wiz –and natural born Soc – Ann Handley will talk about filling the top of the funnel with enticing, beautiful, compelling content. Hot stuff. Eloqua’s on Elle Woulfe, covered with Greaser-like tattoos, will then talk about how demand generation then takes over, and does the heavy work of turning those leads into revenue growth. It’s a killer paring, but it’s not combustible. Because in the end content marketing and lead nurturing need one another.
Check it out. You can register here. It begins at 12:00 ET today. S.E. Hinton would be proud. In the meantime, if you are looking for a sneak preview, here is a SlideShare presentation that walks you through Eloqua's approach to capturing and cultivating leads with content marketing.
