AM Inbox: Wayfair holds 2nd Pinterest contest

The Retail Email Blog monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 top online retailers. Here are highlights from my inbox this morning:

Wayfair, 3/20 — Create your dream nursery on PINTEREST for a chance to WIN $200 in Wayfair Rewards
While a lot of retailers are still figuring out Pinterest, Wayfair is running their second contest there. They promoted their first Pinterest contest in an email last month (see Feb. 14 AM Inbox). This new contest is more polished than the last and a has a stronger, more practical theme, but the two are similar in that they refer subscribers to their Facebook page for rules and the rules even state that entrants must like them on Facebook and follow them on Pinterest. So this contest builds their fan bases on both social networks. As a secondary benefit, since entering the contest tells Wayfair that the subscriber (or someone near them) is expecting a child, there’s an opportunity in the coming months to follow up with segmented emails promoting nursery, toys and apparel for little ones.
