AM Inbox: Tapping user-generated photos

The Retail Email Blog monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 top online retailers. Here are highlights from my inbox this morning:

REI, 5/29 — Bikes, Strollers and Gear at REI Now + Free Shipping on Marmot‏
Part of REI’s strategy for creating a sense of community is to use photos from co-op members in their marketing materials. They use them in their catalogs and in their emails, including their award-winning year-long welcome series. To help collect great photos, they use their emails to put out the call. Is that a strategy that could work for you brand?
