AM Inbox: Size is everything

RetailEmail.Blogspot monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 of the top online retailers. Here are highlights from our inbox this morning:

Coldwater Creek, 7/18, 11 am — 50% off EVERYTHING ~ Shop your size now
More retailers are catching on to the fact that there’s nothing more frustrating to a shopper than finding a great skirt or pair of pants and then finding out that it’s not available in your size. Now while the obvious solution is to upgrade your supply chain management software, warehouse management software, merchandise management software, allocation software and order management software, some retailers are employing a nice band-aid approach and simply using a little filtering to allow shoppers to shop by size. Old Navy recently touted their shop-by-size feature in an email, and J. Jill bragged about their wide span of sizes in a July 13th email. Unfortunately in the case of Coldwater Creek, it was a good idea but bad implementation, as we got several “We’re sorry, at this time we are unable to locate the item you’re searching for on our site” messages when we tried to click through on a size.

ColdwaterCreek lets you shop by size
