AM Inbox: Mobile-friendly two-column product grids

The Retail Email Blog monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 top online retailers. Here are highlights from my inbox this morning:

Bluefly, 3/2 — It's Official...Spring 2011 Is Here! (1000+ NEW Styles You Can't Live Without!)
Making email designs mobile-friendly has been on my mind a lot lately. I’ve got my fingers crossed that retailers can make some major improvements on that front before the upcoming holiday season. One of the areas where improvement is needed is in making calls-to-action touchscreen-friendly. This Bluefly email provides a good example of what that can look like. When scaled down for small screens, the six green product category boxes function as nice buttons. The key—which Bluefly executed on—is making the whole box clickable, not just the “Shop Now” button. I expect to see many more two-column product grids as designs become more mobile-friendly.
