The Retail Email Blog monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 top online retailers. Here are highlights from my inbox this morning:
Saks Fifth Avenue, 3/3 — Take 30% OFF Saks Fifth Avenue Men's Collection
Saks gives us our first reference to Father’s Day, which is June 20 this year. For insights and inspiration to help you plan your Father’s Day emails, check out the 2009 Father’s Day Season Finale.
Kohl’s, 3/3 — What will you save? Extra 30%, 20%, 15% Off + Free Shipping
Retailers are becoming more sophisticated and thoughtful in their use of social media—one sign being the rise of Facebook pages for email landing pages, as in this Kohl’s email. They couple a straight-forward Lauren Conrad promotion with a secondary call-to-action to “catch up with Lauren Conrad” on Facebook, where she’ll be participating in a live chat on March 15. The landing page is a tab on their Facebook page and includes videos, fashion tips, a poll, Conrad’s Twitter feed, and behind-the-scenes photos of Conrad and her team. There’s a lot to engage with, and since it’s on Facebook it’s easy to share the content with friends.
