The Retail Email Blog monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 top online retailers. Here are highlights from my inbox this morning:
Disney Store, 4/6 — Your Hunt for Great Easter Basket Gifts Ends Here
Disney Store has redesigned their email template, with the biggest change being that they’ve abandoned the elaborate background image that framed up the body of the email. That change lightens up the email and puts more emphasis on the email message. They also go with a simple logo image, opening up the space to the right of it for a preheader message. The width of the email remains a very mobile-friendly 600 pixels. Here’s the new design (left) and the previous design from an Apr. 3 email:
Williams-Sonoma, 4/6 — On the Menu: What’s New This Month at Williams-Sonoma
Apparently finding success with engaging subscribers with content, Williams-Sonoma has launched a new monthly “On the Menu” newsletter. To differentiate the newsletter from their promotional emails in a way that’s clear in preview panes, they’ve centered their logo and use a table of contents. Below the fold, the email has typical newsletter features, such as large images, and avoids using smaller product grid-type arrangements.
Bluefly, 4/6 — Stand Tall: NEW Shoes from Stuart Weitzman, Christian Louboutin, Boutique 9, Prada & More!
In this email, Bluefly introduces what appear to be three personalized product recommendations. Also, the product names and descriptions in these recommendations are HTML text so they’ll show up when images are blocked.
