4 Retail Marketing Holiday Planning Strategies

Retailers rely very heavily on the revenue generated during the holiday shopping season. Those in retail marketing have visions of booming sales dancing in their heads – especially the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas AKA “crunch time.”

A Look Back
Last year Wacarra Yeomans, Sr. Director of Creative Services and Ryan Hofmann, Strategic Director, co-hosted a webcast entitled “Relationship Era Strategy for Bigger Holiday Results”.

Held in early September 2013, the webcast focused on four main topics:

1. Leverage the continuing rise of mobile commerce. It should come as no surprise to anyone that more and more consumers are spending more and more time shopping on their mobile devices. The onus is truly on all retailers to provide a mobile shopping experience as this trend continues in 2014 and beyond.

2. Use digital strategy to drive engagement and conversion. Using email to drive consumers in store and connecting the offline and online experience with e-Receipts are just two examples of many digital strategies retailer can use to increase engagement and conversion.

3. Master trends in video, wish lists, countdowns and more. According to LiveClicker, click-through-rates can increase by as much as 50% when embedding live video in emails. Wish lists and live content such as countdown clocks can also positively impact CTR.

4. Map out engagement-based lifecycle holiday promotions. During the holiday, marketers have campaigns at the forefront of their planning. It is vital to implement a customer-centric approach to holiday planning and promotions

Bonus: Don’t forget to think outside the inbox. Attract last-minute shoppers by utilizing the power of SMS/Text messaging that it is targeted, highly relevant and valuable

An Eye Toward this Holiday Season
