Searching OpenDS and Directory Server on OpenSolaris, part II
By mcraig on Feb 22, 2008
On Marc Kossa's suggestion, I tried moving the searchtune client off the laptop. DS is on the laptop listening on port 1389. OpenDS is on the laptop on port 2389. The laptop is a Tecra M5 running OpenSolaris developer preview 2. The clients are on a server in the lab.
On suggestion from an anonymous reader , I fixed the searchrate commands so they are actually finding something... ;-) The numbers are less impressive, but still not bad for a laptop.
Here is DS on this system, with the default configuration (so not much cache).
$ ./searchrate -h laptop-ip -p 1389 -b dc=example,dc=com -K -f "(uid=user.%d)" -r 100000 -t 20 -A cn Avg r= 19.00/thr ( 76.00/sec), total= 380 Avg r= 91.75/thr (367.00/sec), total= 1835 Avg r=1674.25/thr (6697.00/sec), total= 33485 Avg r=1736.55/thr (6946.20/sec), total= 34731 Avg r=1603.90/thr (6415.60/sec), total= 32078 Avg r=1683.30/thr (6733.20/sec), total= 33666 Avg r=1745.80/thr (6983.20/sec), total= 34916 Avg r=1760.55/thr (7042.20/sec), total= 35211 Avg r=1728.10/thr (6912.40/sec), total= 34562 Avg r=1757.30/thr (7029.20/sec), total= 35146 Avg r=1589.90/thr (6359.60/sec), total= 31798 \^C
Here is OpenDS, with 256M for the JVM heap.
