Searching OpenDS and Directory Server on OpenSolaris, part II

Download DSEE free of charge Download OpenDS

On Marc Kossa's suggestion, I tried moving the searchtune client off the laptop. DS is on the laptop listening on port 1389. OpenDS is on the laptop on port 2389. The laptop is a Tecra M5 running OpenSolaris developer preview 2. The clients are on a server in the lab.

On suggestion from an anonymous reader , I fixed the searchrate commands so they are actually finding something... ;-) The numbers are less impressive, but still not bad for a laptop.

Here is DS on this system, with the default configuration (so not much cache).

$ ./searchrate -h laptop-ip -p 1389 -b dc=example,dc=com -K -f "(uid=user.%d)" -r 100000 -t 20 -A cn
Avg r=  19.00/thr ( 76.00/sec), total=   380

Here is OpenDS, with 256M for the JVM heap.
