Ludo posted the announcement yesterday to the users and dev aliases for the OpenDS project:
We've been pretty quiet since Oracle finalized the acquisition of Sun Microsystems. But as announced by the new owners, the OpenDS project continues as open source. We've been actively working on the code and I'm really happy to say that we are now sharing the result of this work.
This build includes a number of improvements over 2.3.0-build001, as Ludo describes in his mail and on his blog.
The amusing side effect after setting up replication with a previous build on this laptop is that Symantec Client Firewall appears to recognize something in the replication protocol as signature "iNi Killer Trojan horse" activity when using port 9989, and then blocks replication traffic. If only the firewall configuration GUI were as easy to work with as the OpenDS Control panel.
