replcheck officially delivered inside Directory Services 6.1

Sun Java System Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6.1 is now publicly available and downloadable via the Directory Server Enterprise Edition Download page.
This new release comes along with some great news from a troubleshooter's perspective: the delivery, inside the product itself, of the Java version of the replck script. This user-friendly Java application is now named replcheck and it can be found under the ds6/support_tools/bin directory, and, as its replck script ancestor, will help you detect and most likely fix any replication looping halt without the need to re-initialize the DS topology.
In summary, if you need to detect and repair a replication looping halt today, here are the solutions you can get:
- your topology is DS5.2patch4, DS5.2patch5 or DS6.0 based => contact Sun Support to get the replck script and usage instructions.
- your topology is DS6.1 based (and onwards) => get the tool directly from the product, Java based.
Other than this important feature, DS6.1 also provides additional enhancements like automatic migration from DS5.1 (actually, another important troubleshooter enhancement now that I think of it), a WAR file delivery of the Directory Services Control Center and an additional subcommand for dsadm (repack) to compact/optimize the database usage.
