Round The World In Eight Days

As much as I love traveling, it was really nice to spend 30 days at home without setting foot on an airplane. Well, payback time arrived last week. Six flights, five customer meetings, four cities, three countries, and 17,397 air miles later I'm spending the weekend, or at least part of it,

here in Singapore. I actually get to spend four nights sleeping in a hotel room here, after spending two of the last four nights on airplanes. My trip started in

Barcelona, although I didn't get to see much more than the airport and the Barcelona Supercomputer Center. Germany flashed by at even a faster pace, ending up in

"

Dusseldorf airport with Simon and Philippe after a three hour drive through Europe's worst storm in decades.

In Singapore this morning, Simon volunteered to support my marathon training with a 90 minute run along Singapore's East Coast. Nothing like 90 minutes running at 90+% humidity at six in the morning to cure jet lag. The next 3 days I have a packed schedule meeting with customers, press, local Sun staff, and sitting in on Sun's Asia Pacific Science and Technology Center quarterly research review. I'm sure that will lead to a few interesting blogs, and with a 16 hour flight back home later in the week I should have plenty of time.
