HCM Standard Business Events in Oracle Applications

After a number of OAF blogs here i am writing about Business Events in Oracle Application.Business Events are the important events that are happening inside application. For eg: Supplier Creation,Employee Creation etc.Along with the product Oracle has delivered standard events and also they are providing facilities to create custom Business Events. In order to do some operation related to a Business Event we have to subscribe the Business Event.Subscription can be a PL/SQL,Java or Work Flow.We can embed custom logic inside this.

Here I am explaining about Standard HCM Business Events.HCM has numerous number of standard events.Following are the list of few.

Name

Purpose

oracle.apps.per.api.employee.create_employee

Capture create employee

oracle.apps.per.api.person.update_person

Capture update person

oracle.apps.per.api.assignment.update_emp_asg_criteria

Capture update assignment criteria

oracle.apps.per.api.assignment.update_emp_asg

Capture update assignment

If you want to know more Business Events go to Workflow Administrator > Administrator Workflow > Business Events.Enter Name and
press Go.

My scenario is to capture employee create and update through Business Events.

Identified Business Events are:

oracle.apps.per.api.employee.create_employee
oracle.apps.per.api.person.update_person

Following steps needs to be perform.

1) Check the above two Business Events. If they are disabled enable it.Go to the responsibility in Workflow System Administrator. If it is '*' then all Workflow related responsibilities have privilege to do it.

2) Create subscription to the above events.Following scripts I have used to create the event capture table and the subscription function.

Table Creation

Subscription Function

Press Apply and save it.

Similarly create subscription for update_person also.

4) Create/Update an employee.

Since the subscription we have created above is deferred we can watch the status in WF_DEFERRED.Go to oracle Applications Manager.Click on Workflow Manager.Click on Agent Activity.

Choose WF_DEFERRED and click on Search Agent Entry Details.

You can see the status, parameters,XML input etc...
