What camera should I buy

I miss my camera a lot. It was nice small compact Olympus Mju 300 (caled Stylus in America). It was stolen almost one year ago. I'm thinking about new one. I want to spent too much money on it. I definitelly don't need huge camer for professional photos. On the other hand I'd like to try something little bit more advanced with more features then the Olympus Mju. The Mju was perfect for snapshots. I took it everywhere because it was really small.

My specification of the camera: at least 4 mega pixels, manual setting of time..., not big, not small, price up to 250$ (max 300 including 512MB card).
I ended with two Canons. A610 and A520.
Do you have recommendation for different cameras? Different opinions? Your experience? Thank you.
Comments:

The Canon's are good (I have an "old" G1 I'm happy with) but I'd also suggest to consider Fuji. Fuji is the only brand I'm aware of to use HEXAGONAL pixels, thus, at a smaller pixel count the images are sharper than the competitions standard square pixels. Of course, I'm in no manner affiliated with either company. 8)

Correction. The Fuji "Super CCD" is hexagonal, but apparently the new "Super CCD HR" uses OCTAGONAL pixels! Perhaps your best bet is some of the good review sites like dpreview.com or Steve's DigiCams? Good luck!

hi there,

i recently bought a canon A620 -- every once in a while dell(see deals in www.dealstobuy.com/) has a good deal for less than $300. You can buy a 1/2 GB card for about 20 bucks. So, you might be able to get it almost for $300.
nice camera -- a lil heavy with 4 batteries but not too bad -- fits in my trouser pocket.

fit trouser pocket? It sound like it's pretty small camera. I like the big display (you can turn it, right?) But I'm thinking about A520 too because it has only 2 bateries...

Where did you bought the 1/GB card for 20$?

I bought a Cannon PowerShot SD400 camera pretty recently. I am very happy with it, and it fits the bill you're looking for. SD450 has a larger LCD and slightly higher price, but SD400 was pretty good for me. I had some discount coupons, It costed me $270 including a 512 MB SD memory card.

According to the following link (in Czech) you'd better not buy the camera you intended: http://www.mobilmania.cz/Bleskovky/AR.asp?ARI=112061

Lukasi, I bought A610 last December. I could give you some info about it (and you could perhaps try it out).
