NetBeans 6.0 Beta1 official version is live

The official Beta1 has been announced finally.

I've got a message for those that downloaded some of the previous betas - yes there were some changes between the Betas. If downloaded a beta1 build before September 15 then you probably have a wrong beta. Don't worry to much. The changes in Betas are usually small therefore you can use "your" beta1 ;)

You might wonder how it could happen. NetBeans is open source project therefore all the builds, pages were made public. Then should come an announcement when the beta1 testing is finished. Well, some of the impatient users found the beta1 download page (it wasn't too difficult) and downloaded it. They even blogged and mailed about it. In this way they confused the community. OK, you are right. It wasn't their fault. The download page showed "Beta1 download". Next time there should be a big sign - "Not final - unofficial YET" to not confuse anybody.

There is more distributions available for your download. Web & Java EE, Mobility, Java SE, Ruby, C/C++, All. The differences should be obvious from the names.
There is a summary of changes in Beta1 builds. I'll try to summarize the changes and new features in Mobility Pack in later posts.
