Second Life Event April 24th 10AM PT

Sun-Second-Life If you were at the Web 2.0 Expo last week, you likely heard James Baty talk about the Open Architecture Network (OAN). When you hear the term "network" from anyone at Sun, you likely think of the hardware variety -- OAN is different. Here's Wikipedia's description:

"Open Architecture Network is a free online, open source community dedicated to improving global living conditions through innovative and sustainable design. It was developed after Cameron Sinclair won the 2006 TED Prize from Technology Entertainment Design conference. The prize awards each recipient 'one wish to change the world'.

The aim of the network is to allow architects, designers, innovators and community leaders to share innovative and sustainable ideas, designs and plans. View and review designs posted by others. Collaborate with each other, people in other professions and community leaders to address specific design challenges. Manage design projects from concept to implementation. Protect their intellectual property rights using the Creative Commons "some rights reserved" licensing system and be shielded from unwarranted liability.

The Beta Version launched on March 8, 2007."
Tomorrow (April 24th) at 10AM PT, you can join Cameron and John Gage in a Second Life walking tour of an OAN network design plan.
