Great time to test drive the Ultra 20 @ Home

If you've always wanted a smokin' fast Sun desktop at home, but didn't pull the trigger because of cost, fear of straying away from windows, thought Sun desktops are only for geeks, etc., now is a perfect time to try out the Ultra 20...

...for F-R-E-E.

If in 60 days you decide you don't like it, Sun pays for the return. If you like it, the starting price is $895...a killer deal for a seriously reliable work horse.

It ships with Solaris by default at no additional cost, but runs like a dream on Windows. I know this by experience -- I've tried it on this very machine sitting under my very desk at this very moment.

Ultra20

The only time I thought there was a problem with it, the ethernet port seemed unresponsive -- even though the green light was on, I couldn't get an internet connection. After contacting Sun support (super nice, responsive, smart peeps), I learned that I just needed to update my NVIDIA drivers. I felt pretty silly, but it was nice to know that support is effective.

Admittedly, it's a lot like the BMW I sold --I'll never come close to pushing this machine anywhere near it's capacity, but it sure is nice never being limited and not having to worry about reliability.
