Blogging Styles

Observing ever-emerging, ever-evolving blogging styles is interesting. Some of my favorites:

I love the unique writing style of Globalful. Tho' I think you might need to possess an appreciation for sarcastic humor, share some context commonality with the blogger, and perhaps be sipping on your favorite alcoholic beverage to really get most of it. I would have loved to have observed him capturing the photos of himself for his 'Travelogue' series!

I like the free-flowing, super passionate, honest writing style of Rosie O'Donnell. Her blog's FAQ page is pretty funny too.

Claire clued me in to Kathy Sierra's Blog. In addition to finding the images entertaining and interesting, this blog has a plethora of great information, including links to other cool blogs and good books -- because of this blog, I'm currently reading "A Smile in the Mind: Witty thinking in graphics design" and "Naked Conversations: How blogs are changing the way businesses talk with customers. Check out Kathy's image for Tueday's post titled:Mediocrity by "areas of improvement":

Some of my least favorite blogging styles (notice I've spared referencing specific blogs):

There's the 'fast out of the gate, but early drop off' blogger who starts a blog, invests a reasonable amount of time setting it up, blogs enthusiastically, then suddenly drops off the face of the earth. I'm sure there are valid reasons for this most of the time, but it's still annoying.

There's the all work, no play blog where the blogger never shows any personality. Boring and not conducive to open conversation. About as fun as reading this. Not that it probably isn't super important and perhaps a good reference source, but I'm just not hard up enough for entertainment to consistently follow these types of blogs.

Then there's the all text no visual design blog. Again, b-o-r-i-n-g.

This probably isn't necessary to state, but all of the above is purely an expression of my individual blog style preferences. I'm sure this very blog doesn't exactly make some folks top ten list...and I'm down with that.
