40G is a lot of friggin' space!

Sorry to continue my obsessed blog entries on my iPod, but I'm now in the "Holy crap...why did I get the 40 gig iPod?!" phase of my iPod ownership. Here are my pathetic storage usage stats:

40 songs
6.4 hours
207MB

I'm also thinking I've downloaded every single favorite song in my life's repertoire. So, now I'm just downloading to download. It's as tho' my iPod is daring me to even get on it's radar. Case in point...my latest download:

Build Me Up Buttercup by The Foundations (this song does make me feel silly sappy tho'...so, there's the silver lining)

Is anyone out there close to filling up their 40G iPod (without cluttering it with every song from every CD they own)?

Sincerely,
Wimpy iPod User Girl

P.S. Wouldn't it be cool if you could pay as you use your iPod, much like Sun's Grid Computing does for IT infrastructure? Maybe I don't need the $400 40G iPod...maybe all I really need is the $99 512MB iPod Shuffle...MAYBE, I don't even need that (based on my stats above). On the other hand, what if I start using my iPod for storing more than music and I end up needing more than 40G?
