New article on OTN: How I Use the Advanced Capabilities of Btrfs

In her first article, "How I Got Started with the Btrfs File System for Oracle Linux", Margaret gave an overview of the Btrfs file system on Oracle Linux and explained the basic file system operations.

In the second part of this article series titled "How I Use the Advanced Capabilities of Btrfs", Margaret now explores some of the more advanced features of this file system like RAID, checksums or filesystem snapshots and clones.

A Tour of Btrfs - I Can't Believe This is Butter!

Oracle's Avi Miller recently presented at linux.conf.au 2012 event. He gave a beginner's tutorial on Btrfs.

Btrfs ("Butter FS") is a new copy on write filesystem for Linux aimed at implementing advanced features while focusing on fault tolerance, repair and easy administration. Initially developed by Oracle, Btrfs is licensed under the GPL and open for contribution from anyone.

First episode of the Oracle Linux Podcast: Sunil Mushran on OCFS2

We've just published the first episode of the new Oracle Linux Podcast, in which we are going to cover topics around Linux in general and Oracle Linux in particular.

In this recording, I've interviewed Sunil Mushran from our Engineering team to give us an update and overview about OCFS2, Oracle's shared-disk clustering file system for Linux. We're talking about its features and use cases as well as the development process, the collaboration with the Linux Kernel community and upcoming developments.
