Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 Hands-on Labs on Oracle Help Center Learn

With the recent 2.0 release of Oracle Linux Automation Manager, there are many new capabilities in the areas of modern provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and task automation. Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 is based on the AWX version 19.5.1 open source software. Oracle Linux Automation Engine is included in Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 and is based on the ansible-core version 2.12.2 open source software.

Next, you’ll want to take advantage of a set of free, hands-on lab exercises that you can find on Oracle Help Center (OHC) Learn. OHC contains tutorials and hands-on lab exercises for a variety of Oracle Cloud services and on-premises products. Each hands-on lab provides step-by-step procedures to complete specific tasks in an Oracle-provided free lab environment. Follow the procedures to connect to your Oracle Linux compute instances on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and complete the labs. Alternatively, you can perform the lab steps on your own Oracle Linux environment.

  • Learn how to upgrade an Oracle Linux Automation Manager Release 1.0 installation to Release 2.0. The free lab environment deploys a running Oracle Linux Automation Manager 1.0 installation ready for the upgrade. This lab then demonstrates how to:
    • Verify Release 1.0 Installation
    • Upgrade to Release 2.0
    • Verify the Upgrade to Release 2.0
• Migrate Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 to a Clustered Deployment (90 min)
  • Learn how to migrate a single-host Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 installation to a clustered deployment with a remote database. The free lab environment provides a system with Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 installed (control-node) and two additional nodes for migrating to a clustered deployment. This lab then demonstrates how to:
    • Verify Release 2.0 Installation
    • Migrate to a Cluster Deployment
      • Prepare the Control Plane Node
      • Install the Remote Database
      • Add the Remote Database Settings
      • Remove the Local Database Instance
      • Change the Node Type of the Control Plane Node
    • Add an Execution Plane Node to the Cluster
      • Prepare the Execution Plane Node
      • Provision the Execution Plane Node
      • Verify the Execution Plane Node Registration
    • Verify the Cluster is Working
• Get Started with Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 (90 min)
  • Learn how to setup and use Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0. The free lab environment provides a system with Oracle Linux Automation Manager 2.0 installed and an additional node running a Git Server. This lab then demonstrates how to:
    • Login to the WebUI
    • Navigate the WebUI
    • Review the Default Organization
    • Add a User
