Training Tuesday Edition - 10

Container technology provides a means for developers and system administrators to build and package applications together with libraries, binaries, and configuration files so they can run independently from the host operating system and kernel version. You can run the same container application, unchanged, on laptops, data center virtual machines, and on a cloud environment.

Learn how to create and maintain containers, images, and pods on Oracle Linux 8 with Podman, Buildah, and Skopeo tools. Podman provides a lightweight utility to run and manage Open Container Initiative (OCI) compatible containers and can re-use existing container images designed for Kubernetes and Oracle Linux Cloud Native Environment. Buildah is a utility for creating OCI-compatible container images. Skopeo is a utility for managing container images on remote container registries, thus making it possible to inspect a container image's contents without first downloading it.

Here’s the list of videos and the time it takes for you to complete each one:

New videos are added on an ongoing basis so check back often.

To reinforce your learning about Podman, access free Podman hands-on lab exercises via docs.oracle.com/learn:

In next week's Training Tuesday blog we will continue on the theme of virtualization with the first in a series of blogs about Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager training videos.
