Oracle Cloud Native Environment 1.5.7 was released today and includes updated components, new features, and an easier and more intuitive deployment option. These enhancements can help customers to easily deploy Oracle Cloud Native Environment and leverage the Kubernetes 1.24 release with an improved container runtime set up, a deployment model for different components of the environment, and lifecycle management for the infrastructure.
Oracle Cloud Native Environment is a selected set of popular open source software that provides a production-ready environment for running containerized applications. It offers developers a simplified framework for installations, updates, upgrades, and configuration of key features for orchestrating microservices.

The Istio module has been improved to allow for multiple Istio modules to be installed using custom profiles, while retaining a single Istio control plane. The profiles provide customization of the Istio control plane and of the sidecars for the Istio data plane. You can start with one of Istio’s built-in configuration profiles and then further customize the configuration for your specific needs.
The Platform CLI has been improved with new commands that allow for faster and much more intuitive Oracle Cloud Native Environment deployment and set up. To use these commands, you must first install the Platform CLI package, olcnectl.
Oracle Cloud Native Environment, for container runtime and lifecycle management, and Oracle Verrazzano Enterprise Container Platform, for container application management, together offer a comprehensive solution based on an integrated suite of open source software with a flexible subscription-based support model that enables customers to easily adopt a modern application development and deployment model for container-based services, on-premises and in the cloud.
