Recently I blogged about an Oracle Developer Community document for configuring iSCSI with Oracle Linux 7 and 6. Continuing my Oracle Linux theme I produced the following Oracle Developer Community post for how to patch Oracle Linux with Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c.
Linux Host Patching is a framework within Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control that keeps hosts updated with security and critical bug fixes.
Framework key features:
Set up multiple Linux RPM Repositories based on Oracle Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN) channels
Download Advisories (Errata’s) from Oracle ULN
Manage RPM repositories and channels (clone channels, copy packages from one channel into another, delete channels)
Create Custom Channels containing user-specified RPM’s
Manage configuration file channels (create/delete channels, upload files, copy files from one channel into another)
Set up multiple Linux Patching Groups to update a collection of Linux hosts and collect compliance information
Allow non-compliant packages to be patched
Rollback or uninstall packages from a host
Support for Oracle Linux 5, 6 and 7
