Oracle VM Templates for Oracle Solaris 10
Oracle VM Templates for Oracle Solaris 10 can be used to rapidly provision a new virtual machine running Oracle Solaris 10 10/09 OS on x86/x64 platforms
I noticed these differences.
- Fully Virtualized vs Paravirtualized
- Solaris is 'unconfigured'. When you boot it, you should answer several questions such as DHCP vs fixed IP, etc.
- Solaris is GUI login enabled. To disable it, run this as root.
# svcadm disable svc:/application/graphical-login/cde-login:default
- 'root' ssh login is not allowed on Solaris.
# vi /etc/ssh/sshd_config
// PermitRootLogin yes
# svcadm restart /network/ssh
