I am currently sitting in a technical product session that among other things is discussing new product features AND anticipated release dates.
I was struck that regardless of what terminology that is used, CY - Calendar year, FY - Fiscal Year or quarter, the release date is always the last day of the unit.
So when I say product X is going to be available 2nd quarter of next year, you can expect it on June 30th and not before.
Has anyone ever delivered on the first day of a quarter. No in my life time. We may hope for it earlier but we know we it will be delivered.
