Social Plug-in Samples for UCM - Site Studio for External Applications

I recently put together a sample set of Site Studio assets for adding several web 2.0 social plug-ins directly through contribution mode. It allows content contributors to pick the plug-in they want plus adds parameters through contribution mode for setting specific values such as size, color, search term, etc. These include plugins from popular sites including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, Digg, and Google Maps.

The samples are written for UCM 11g Site Studio for External Applications and thus uses JDeveloper Region Templates for display. But code could be extracted from those and fairly easily converted into Region Templates in standard Site Studio sites.

The sample code is available on the Oracle Sample Code site.

Hi, two questions: so I take this to mean I could could use this code in a Portlet (with the RIDC and SSXA plugins) in WLP? Also - does this mean (with minimal coding changes) I could also support UCM 11G using sitestudio developer R4 instead of JDev? regards Geoff

Hey Geoff, Yes on both counts. The SSXA plug-ins inherently uses the RIDC API to communicate with UCM, so those libraries would need to be deployed on the WLP server. The tricky part would be for the login into contribution mode from a Portlet. SSXA isn't specifically designed to work within portlets, so that might prove difficult. As for supporting Site Studio developer, you would basically need to create new templates that mimic the functionality as the JSP ones in the SSXA example. But the other assets such as the region definitions and element definitions would remain the same. Thanks, Kyle

I'll give this a go in ADF applications which leverage UCM, looks very promising.

Hi,

Could you please update "Oracle Sample Code site" link so we can download sample code?
