Positioning Sections in Site Studio Designer
By Kyle Hatlestad on Aug 21, 2009
Sorry for all of recent Site Studio postings, but have been working in it lately and running across various things to share.
And this one is a quick and easy one.I don't know how long this has been in there, but I've never run across it until now. Whenever I've moved sections around in Site Studio Designer, I've always had to plop my section into its parent section...and then re-drop in the other sections in there to order them. So for instance, if I had a section with sub sections A, B, and C. And I had a new section D I wanted to include in between A and B, I would basically have to move and re-add C to the top, then re-add B, then and my new section D, then re-add A. Now I'd have A, D, B, C. A lot of steps...
But if you were using the web based Site Studio Manager, when you added or dragged sections around, it would ask you if you want to move them before, after, or into that section.
It turns out that if you are dragging and dropping a section in Designer, if you use the right-mouse button, then you get those options. Yay! Maybe this is commonly known...but it was news to me.
