SIP Load-Balancer

Are you looking for load-balancer to handle SIP requests ? If yes, you have come to right place .

Brief history : Sun Communication Application Server, aka sailfin, is built over glassfish. Glassfish is  Java EE 5 based application server. And sailfin provides SIP Servlet Container based on JSR 289 over and above what is offered by Glassfish.

Sailfin not only provide containers to deploy SIP and JAVA EE 5 based applications. It is complete package with high-availability features like load-balancing and session-replication required by enterprise systems.

To learn more about load-balancer available with sailfin, please refer to my blogs on Converged Load Balancer.

Hi,

Is the SIP LB able to work in stateless proxy mode?

If so, can i ask how you handle:

1) route-record: do you have option to not add LB sip proxy so to remove from signalling path with route-record handling persistence.
2) the 100 Trying response: do you forward this on reception of this from the UAS (as stateless proxy must not generate this response)?
3) VIA field: do you restrict the LB from adding this so that responses do not return via the LB sip proxy? Note this means the 100 Trying will not be recived by LB neither but be sent to the next node on the Via header.

Hi Ross,

SIP LB is a component inside SailFin and is not a stateless proxy. This component handles load distribution across instances in SailFin cluster.

1. SIP LB does not record route
2. SIP LB does not generate 100 Trying response
3. It does add a Via so that response follow path of request.

Thanks,
Kshitiz
