Open Source University Meetup (OSUM)

I guess everybody involved in SUN activities has awareness about OSUM. OSUM was in the past very closed socical network. You need to be registred in to see what is inside. After long time we have change to the better way. OSUM is going to be more open to the public. It means more information and more reasons to be registred in. I guess one of the main principes of any open community is to be open. OSUM is now going to reach this goal.  Have a look at public profile of the groups. Anyway changes are comming ...

The biggest European OpenSource Conference - GeeCON

I am proud to announce on my blog  months of our effort. At the start was only small idea to create  international opensource event. Whole Europe is missing events like JavaONE is. And after months of our work we have GeeCON! This is the first article about this conference.  Maybe now you asking yoursefl what is  GeeCON ? I would like to answer your question ...

GeeCON is a conference that will focus on Java and Java Virtual Machine based technologies, with special attention to dynamic languages like Groovy, Ruby and Scala. We want GeeCON to become a forum for sharing experiences about modern software development methodologies, enterprise architectures, patterns, distributed computing and more! The conference is organised by Czech Java User Group and Polish Java User Group (supported by groups from Poznań and Szczecin).

GeeCON is for everyone! Interested in new things from the world of Java and related universes – even better! The conference is aimed at software developers and architects, IT experts, students and personalities from the world of science.

Stay tuned !

SunSPOT project and opensource

Based on yesterday duscussion with my colleague. I want to mention how much is SunSPOT project open source. There are really good ways how to contribute to this amazing project.

Because I haven't easily found one site where are all opensource projects placed together. I decided to do that (instead Mike's article of course - SunSPOT hardware open source) to increase success :). Here it is. Enjoy !

SPOTs project - here you can find all projects
eSPOT Main Board
eDemo - demonstration board for SunSPOTs

eFlash - MiniSD card reader/writer add on board for Sun SPOT eS
eSerial - RS232 interface board for the Sun SPOT
eProto - simple prototyping board for the SunSPOTs
eProtomega - Atmega88 prototype board for SunSPOT

solarium - SunSPOT simulator

And for the first time users is very good to have basic experience what the SunSPOT is. In this case there are some demos.

As I wrote in the one of  previous messages about Microsoft seminar for students. Today afternoon I had luck and I discovered one of Microsoft posters when I was hanging out my posters for the next planed seminar.
I didn't want to be so hostile and I have left theirs posters be hanging. I did one nice foto :)
