Alan Webb sets new PR in the 800

Alan Webb is on a roll, setting a PR by nearly two seconds in the 800 meters today in Heusden, Belgium.

He won the race with a time of 1:43.84 (previous PR was 1:45.80) beating Gary Reed of Canada and Jonathan Johnson of the USA. He is now #8 on the all time US list with only Khadevis Robinson's 1:43.68 from last year being anywhere close to recent.

A video of the race is available and Flotrack should have coverage available soon too.

This speed over 800 meters will hopefully serve him very well at the World Championships in a month as the race is likely to be tactical and a quick closing 600-800 will be needed. I believe Webb's next race will be the 1500 at London in August 3rd and then he'll return to the US to train until going to Osaka.
