WGBH - Sun Center for Digital Asset Mgt

Kevin Roebuck
Director, Digital Experience

WGBH and Sun are working together to provide a unique reference architecture and
center to promote collaboration with schools, libraries and museums and
other public broadcasting institutions who have an interest in the
field of digital asset management. (http://daminfo.wgbh.org/)

With more and more content being created in digital form combined
with the digitization of our physical assets with initiatives like
Google Print, increasingly academic institutions are required to
take a very wide view of intellectual property, licensing, storage
and re-distribution of their digital assets on the global knowledge
web.

WGBH first hit the airwaves in October 1951 with a live radio
concert by the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Today, WGBH offers multiple
television and radio channels, a vibrant Web site, and a wide range of
multimedia productions -- from IMAX films to online teaching tools used
in classrooms from coast to coast. WGBH produces more of the PBS prime-time
lineup and Web content than any other source and is a key supplier to the
nation's public radio stations. They have also pioneered captioning and
descriptive video for the 36 million Americans with hearing or vision loss.
And it all began with a little lecture series....

They are a great group of people and if I can be of some help in
facilitating a project engagement, please do let me know. They
are a great group of people with a passion for education and the
public interest.
