Exploring Mobility, Chatbots, Blockchain and Augmented Reality solutions in the Cloud to re-imagine Education & Research

Pathfinder

Kevin Roebuck
Director, Digital Experience

Pathfinder
is the avatar name for
John Lester, the Communication and Education
Manager at Linden Lab. Of course Linden is the creator of the
pretty miraculous virtual world called
Second Life. It's
turning out that building virtual worlds, participating in them and
even owning and exchanging virtual things of value can be a valuable
tool for captivating kids and teaching all kinds of topics. If you
think I'm kidding, maybe Harvard Law School can convince you with their
work on the
Infinite Mind. His talk at Siggraph caught my eye thanks to a fellow Sun blogger, Sunfleet. Turns out Pathfinder will be in San Francisco next week and plans to attend the Digital Hollywood Forum along with some buddies from Linden and see where virtual worlds can support
teaching and learning in new and creative ways. If you want to join us
at the Computer History Museum for the Digital Hollywood University
Project on Monday the 14th, just send me an email at
kevin.roebuck@sun.com.
