Kidz On-Line

Director, Digital Experience

My friend Phil at Kidz Online or KZO called and let me know that they have completed the port of their real-time learning application to Solaris. Based on an open source flash server technology called Red5, they have already landed a deal with Cisco's Global Government Solutions Group. Coming soon is also a "mobile content creator" which is a compact computer loaded with KZO’s software, a codec license, and an encoder card which takes the video and audio signal from the live presentation, digitizes it and transmits the data in real-time. ( PDF). email to e-Learning@sun.com for more details on SunFire server configs. KZO was the best thing to come out of Digital Hollywood.
