From Michael at Essex University this morning on the latest release of the Mixed Reality Classroom Project in Wonderland: "Dear all. We have just placed the latest build of MiRTLE on our web site. This comes with full instructions for deploying and using the world for your own purpose. Please go to http://istrweb.essex.ac.uk/MiRTLE_World/ to download the guide documents and the zipped software. We apologise for the size of the zipped deployment software. We are in the process of creating a binary only release which will make this much smaller. If you have any problems, then I suggest you post any queries on the Sun Immersion Special Interest Group site. I have created a forum here: http://sun-isig.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=2194564%3ATopic%3A372. Please go ahead and give it a try. The new MiRTLE world has been built using the latest Wonderland World Builder. The world looks much better for this, but we have found that clients can run rather slow if they do not have the latest graphics card installed (and be of a reasonably high spec). The MiRTLE deployment is also shipped with the old world (which was built in Blender) which does run much faster. It is only a one line change to use the old world instead - please contact us if you have problems and would like to do this.
Have fun and please let us know how you get on. We are keen to help and support you in installing and running your own version of MiRTLE
With best regards
