Changing the Game

Most people who are not gamers or just plain too old simply don't believe there is any value in them for education, healthcare, government or business at all for that matter. Those people should read this new book Changing the Game. In a tough job market where some companies really don't know who they are, what they are trying to achieve or how to organize and motivate talented people to reach that goal, new evidence is rapidly emerging that companies like IBM, Intel Microsoft and Sun are rapidly realizing that games, social networks and virtual worlds are very real and quite powerful. Here's an example of how it is happening at Sun outside of the revolutionary technology work encapsulated in ideas like Project Wonderland, Project Darkstar and to some extent SunSPOTs that form the basis of the notion of Immersion. The good news for those who are believers is that the future is bright and being at the front of a new revolution is much better than being at the back of an old one.
